We are quite often queried regarding the origin of our name. No, we are not named after a particular person or persons. Rather, it is a reflection of our true community roots. In 1986 we operated a youth ‘drop in’ centre in Moruya. At the time we were known as Oasis Commonwealth Youth Support Scheme. This was quite a mouthful and limiting in terms of the possible scope of the services we wished to offer. In searching for a more appropriate name we couldn’t go past our location at the time –the corner of Campbell and Page Streets. So, quite literally from a humble regional street corner, within the space of 25 years, Campbell Page has grown to become a major force within Australia’s not-for-profit sector. However, via our name we are encouraged to remember our origins.
Our growth has resulted from a number of factors – not the least being the skills and dedication of many individuals over the years. Beyond this has been the clear commitment of past and current employees to our Mission, Vision and Value
To serve and empower communities by providing or facilitating innovative learning, employment and community services.
To be an internationally recognised leader of excellence in service to all communities.
Professional – Adhering to our legal and contractual obligations. Providing high quality service because we have the right skills, qualifications and expertise. Acting and behaving appropriately because we are proud of our contribution.
Ethical – Being fair, equitable and unbiased in our interactions with customers, clients and members of the community. Being reliable, honest and trustworthy. Ensuring that everything we do is consistent with the Campbell Page Mission, Vision and Values.
Commitment – Giving our best all the time and following through on our promises. Staying focussed on our goals, even when things get difficult. Being proud of working at Campbell Page and believing in what we do.
Support, Empathy & Respect for the Individual – Treating each individual in the manner in which we would expect to be treated; with courtesy and respect. Supporting and respecting the cultural contexts, goals, beliefs and opinions of each person. Working towards changes and personal development for the individual. Valuing each person for what they can add to the community and to Campbell Page. Valuing the strengths provided by difference and diversity. Building trust and commitment. Understanding the plight of others without judgement.
Sense of Community – Being aware of and responsive to the needs of the diverse communities and cultures in which Campbell Page operates. Being empathic to the specific needs of particular community and cultural groups. Being actively involved in community and cultural activities. Building a sense of togetherness in our communities and cultures.
Integrity – Acting ethically and doing the right thing, even if this is difficult. Maintaining high stands in everything we do. Having a passion for achieving excellent results. Being consistent and responsible in the things we do. Being upfront and honest about situations, and being compassionate about peoples' needs.
