Benefits

At Campbell Page we offer our staff opportunities to be the best, make a difference to the lives of others and work in an enjoyable and rewarding environment.

Campbell Page provides a family friendly work environment. Our flexible workplace arrangements policy affords staff the opportunity to work hours which facilitate a balance between their work and home life. We believe this leads to a greater level of job satisfaction.

Campbell Page offers its employees market competitive remuneration & benefits, which includes above award salaries, salary sacrifice options, flexible working conditions, structured learning & development, career opportunities and an employee assistance program.

We offer staff a Total Fixed Remuneration package which may include both cash and benefits. This Total Fixed Remuneration incorporates a Base Annual Salary (BAS), Salary Packaging, Annual Leave Loading and Employer Superannuation Contribution.

Base Annual Salary

Base Annual Salary is determined by industrial instruments, including relativity to Awards and market conditions. An employee's relevant experience is also a major contributing factor in determining regular base salaries.

Campbell Page offers employees a Base Annual Salary which is above award rates.

Salary Packaging

This information is a guide only. It is strongly recommended that you seek independent advice from an accountant or financial advisor particularly if you have a HELP/HECS/SFSS debt or other sources of income.

As Campbell Page is a not-for-profit organisation it currently enjoys Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) status1 with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). Therefore, Campbell Page is able to offer attractive salary packaging to its employees. Salary Packaging enables you to allocate a portion of your pre-tax income to pay for approved expenses. This reduces the amount of tax you pay and increases your take home pay.

Who is eligible?

Salary Packaging is available to permanent full time, part time, and fixed term employees. Salary Packaging is not available to casual employees.

This entitles our permanent employees to "package" up to $16,049 gross per annum of their Base Annual Salary (BAS) into tax-free salary and benefits.

How does it work?

Campbell Page have engaged Selectus Employee Benefits Pty Ltd (www.selectus.com.au) to manage its Salary Packaging arrangements.

Eligible employees will receive a phone call shortly after commencement of employment with Campbell Page from Selectus. Selectus will provide information and forms for you to commence salary packaging. You are able to then allocate a portion of your pre-tax salary to approved expenses. These amounts must be paid directly to a bona-fide third party or you must have tax invoices to verify the payment.

Below are some examples of approved expenses:

Selectus will provide a more comprehensive list.

  • Credit Cards repayments
  • Mortgage repayments, rent, personal loan repayments
  • Superannuation
  • Motor vehicle leases and expenses

This obviously results in significant tax savings for those who take advantage of it.

How much can I package?

Eligible employees are able to package up to $16,049 per annum of their gross salary annually. The amount is tax free and equates to $617.29 per fortnight.

Example of salary packaging:

Without Salary Packaging With Salary Packaging
Fortnightly Gross Salary: $1,250.00 $1,250.00
Less Salary Packaged Amount:   $617.29
Taxable Amount: $1,250.00 $632.71
Less Tax3: ($154.00) ($40.00)
Net Pay: $1,096.00 $592.71
Total Net Benefit: $1,096.00 $1,210.00
(Salary Packaged Amount + Net pay)

Explanation

The salary packaged amount of $617.29 is taken out prior to being taxed. Tax is then only paid on the remaining amount of $632.71, decreasing your taxable income and the amount of tax paid each fortnight.

The salary packaged option increases your fortnight in hand salary in the above example by $114.00.

These above benefits are only enjoyed by those organisations which have PBI status with the ATO.

Annual Leave Loading

Campbell Page also pays Annual Leave Loading (17_% calculated on BAS) when leave is taken.

Superannuation

Campbell Page makes a superannuation contribution of 9% of your Base Annual Salary into a fund of your nomination. Unless you nominate an alternative Superannuation Fund in accordance with Fund of Choice Legislation, superannuation contributions will be deposited to your own account with RecruitmentSuper. As an industry fund RecruitmentSuper gives you a choice of Fund Management options.

Other Benefits

  • Remuneration is reviewed once per year and any salary adjustments are effective on or after the first full pay period after 1 October. Your performance in the previous 12 months is a major contributing factor to this review.
  • On the advice of Selectus, you maybe eligible for other additional benefits (eg Remote Area Rent)

Leave Provisions

In addition to the normal annual leave provisions, staff at Campbell Page are also provided with personal leave, RDO leave, long service leave and the possibility of Time in Lieu leave.
